THIS IS JESS

This is me!

I have very long brown hair, though I'm told I'm getting a grey one here and there (Icky!--I'm only 26!) I have soft brown eyes, and am a comfortable hight of 5'9". The town I grew up in is called Excelsior, in Minnesota. It's a great town with a cute little downtown strip, lots of shops and places to eat, including a great ice cream shop called Licks Unlimited (the only place I know of, where I can get my favorite ice cream flavor-Blue Moon). Excelsior is on Lake Minnetonka which is great for boating, fishing, and swimming, though I don't do any of those on the lake, myself! (hehehe, actually, I'm a pool swimmer! I hate fish biting at my legs!)

What am I passionate about?

I had a baby on October 22nd. I discoved that pregnancy has its ups and downs, but every day of my pregnancy, I was reminded of what a wonderful miracle it was to be carrying a child within me. And I told myself how lucky I am that God had chosen me to be a part of this miracle. I heard the baby's heartbeat for the first time on April 5th. It was so wonderful,I didn't want to give back the stethoscope to the doctor. I started feeling the baby move on the 23rd of May.
It's such an amazing thing, to feel your child moving inside you. I realized long before she was born that she already had a good sense of humor. When I would say something funny, the baby would move. But why wouldn't the baby have a sense of humor with Tom for a father? He's the best comedian I know! We had our first ultrasound on Thursday, June 15th. The technician told us that it was a girl. Mother's instinct told me that all along. Her name is Angel Rose. And of course she's beautiful! She has a full head of hair, and she was 7lbs 3 oz at birth. She was 20 1/2 inches long.

Here's a pic of me with my beautiful kitty.
His name is Spot.

I have had this adorable creature for a couple of years now. Spot's hobbies include, walking under my feet, eating paper (any paper he can get his paws and teeth on), and entertaining me in the evenings with his "evening crazy" antics. He's a dear, and I wouldn't give him up for anything!

I collect a stuffed dog named Henry which was made by a company called Animal FairTM, right here in Minnesota. At the present time, I have over 60 of these dogs! He's the cutest yellow/orange stuffed dog you will ever see! He has a black nose, tail, and belly button, and a nametag that says Henry on it.

Henry also has a girlfriend who's name is Henrietta.
She has tan fuzzy ears and tail.
Otherwise she looks a lot like Henry.

I am also studying my genealogy. [Surnames include LEFLER PERSINGER KNIFFEN DAILY CLARK SCHELLENGER HOLCOMB(E) MORAN TYLER BARNARD SANDERSON COOK NEWSAM] I began studying my genealogy when my grandfather died, and I didn't know many people at the funeral. My grandparents had divorced when my dad was young, and he never really got to know his father well.

Another thing that I love more than life itself is the fraternal orginization I belong to the Order of the Eastern Star (OES, or Eastern Star). I am currently the Worthy Matron (the presiding officer) of my Eastern Star chapter-third year in a row. It is a great orginization to belong to, and the only requirements to join are that you believe in a god, you are either a mason, or a female relative of a mason (you'd be surprised how many of our grandfathers or uncles were masons!) Ask me about Eastern Star or the Masons!

I am also a writer. I write short stories, poetry, song lyrics and music,
and I have three novels in the works. Here's a small sample of my poetry...

I LOVE YOU

The day you came waltzing into my life,
I felt I had died and gone to heaven.
I was not afraid.
You came as though you were a gift from above.
Life seems so much happier now that you're here,
And the only day I fear is the day you leave.
Sometimes, it's as if you could read my mind.
We've spoken to each other so many times,
Yet you often put me out of your mind as I speak.
Its as if you don't know, or even care.
I just thought I should remind you,
I love you.

One of my hobbies is photography. But let's just say I'm VERY amatuer. I can't use a camera that doesn't program itself, and I actually work best with those cheapy disposables...However, I have taken some of what I consider to be beautiful pictures with those disposables. Here's one I took up on Duluth Harbor, Lake Superior in Duluth, Minnesota

Some of my favorite quotes: "Babies are God's way of saying the world should go on!" "The problem with the gene pool is that there is no lifeguard on duty." "What doesn't kill us makes us stronger." This one was from comedian Steven Wright, thanks to my friend Peg, who passed it on to me... "Last night I played a blank tape at full blast...The mime next door went nuts!" This one I got from Tom and I love it... "If you are going to be a witch, watch out for falling houses and little girls with water!"

What the heck do I do online, anyway?

I spend most of my time in Instant Messages, or working on a webpage. When I am using AOL, my favorite chatrooms are The Minnesota Chatroom, and The Genealogy Chatroom (Please, if you are a snert, don't bother to come in, we don't like them!-lol)
